India Post GDS Online Application 2023 has been activated by the Department of Posts, Ministry of Communications on its official website appost.in. Candidates who wish to apply for India Post GDS Vacancies are advised to visit official website to check detailed notification and submit application for recruitment process.

India Post is conducting this recruitment drive for the selection of Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) posts for West Bengal Postal Circle. Candidates have to pay the application fee on or before the due date. For UR/ OBC/ EWS: Rs. 100, For Women/SC/ST: No Fee and For PWD: No Fee. Qualification :

Candidates who have passed 10th class with Mathematics and English as compulsory or elective subject from a recognized Board of School Education can apply for India Post Gramin Dak Sevak Posts.

Hence, applicants must have passed 10th class examination with passing marks in Mathematics and English (studied as compulsory subjects). Candidates who have cleared 10th class exam in first attempt will be considered as meritorious as compared to those who have passed through compartment. Local language and basic computer knowledge is a must.

Age Limit:

Minimum Age: 18 Years and Maximum Age: 40 Years. Applicants age should not be less than 18 years and not more than 40 years. There is age relaxation for some category of applicants. Age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST/OBC/PWD/EWS candidates as per rules. Local Language:  The candidate must have studied the local language of his area at least up to 10th standard.

Selection Process:

Selection will be based on automatically generated merit list based on the online application of the candidates. Only marks obtained in 10th class examination will be considered.

How to Apply for India Post GDS Recruitment?

India Post is inviting applications to fill the posts of Gramin Doctor Sevaks (GDS). Eligible and interested candidates can apply for West Bengal Postal Circle through India Post official website. Candidates must follow the simple steps given below to submit the online application.

Instruction to the Candidates :

Please Read the Notification Carefully Before Apply Online for Job Profile, Other Eligibility Conditions & Selection Criteria etc. A candidate can apply for a maximum of twenty posts per online engagement cycle across India. This, inter alia, means that a potential candidate can apply for twenty posts in a circle or a single application spread over multiple circles. This limit of twenty posts includes vacancies arising in the home region of the candidate.

Home circle means the permanent residence or locality/state of residence of the prospective candidate and that postal circle is providing the opportunity. Therefore, candidates should exercise due care while exercising the twenty options available to him/her in each cycle. However, if he/she applies for one or more posts in each circle, only one post per circle will be offered.

Once registered, the same mobile number will not be allowed for registration of other candidates also. In case any duplicate registration is found by changing the original details, all such registrations against all the candidates will be removed for consideration of selection.

10th Class Secondary School Examination Pass Certificate is Mandatory with Passing Marks in Mathematics and English Conducted by Any Recognized Board of School Education of Government of India / State Governments / Union Territories. Educational Qualification for all accepted categories of Gramin Godi Sevaks.

A candidate must have studied the local language [as compulsory or elective subjects] at least up to 10th standard as declared by the State Government or as per the constitutional provisions of the 8th Schedule to the Constitution of India.
